The clinicians at Steno Diabetes Center Greenland (SDCG) have been on a course in “Worth knowing about the treatment of Type 1 diabetes” with consultant Kirsten Nørgaard and nurse Karen Rytter from Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. In the days 30.- 31. January, our nurses and doctors employed in SDCG as well as our dietitian, participated in a course in treatment of type 1 diabetes.
During the course, which consisted of presentations and sparring, we gained a lot of knowledge and inspiration on how to manage type 1 diabetes in collaboration with the patient, as well as a good instruction in carbohydrate counting and diet.
Further, we were introduced to various apps and devices that can be used as aids for carbohydrate counting or monitoring blood sugar over a longer period of time.
We are therefore well equipped to take care of all our type 1 diabetes patients.
