Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the level of sugar in the blood is higher than normal.
The high blood sugar is caused either by the body not producing insulin, by the body being poor at using insulin or by a combination of the two. Insulin acts as a key to unlocking the body's cells. The key allows the sugar to enter the cells so that it can be converted into energy.

Diabetes is primarily divided into type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

There are also a number of other types of diabetes such as mody. In addition, diabetes can also occur during pregnancy. This is called gestational diabetes.
